I am somewhat annoyed with myself for not having sought and put to work this product before. It is simple, helpful, fast and just does what it should with neither fuss or bother. Well done programmers! Shout yourselves a beer.

  2. Hello!
on windows 10, when i change the folder of the files to be compressed, it automatically changes the location for the compressed files.
This doesn’t happen on windows 11.
on win 11 – when i change the folder of the images to be compressed, it keeps the previous folder location for the compressed files -> it is a mess. i have to delete the location for the compressed files by hand. sometimes i forget. It would be nice it it worked on win 11 like it does on win 10.

    1. Yes, I had made that change in recent version, not linked to Windows 11. I have received similar complains from others, will change it back to how it was in earlier version. Thanks for the feedback.

  3. Hi,
when it will be available managing path over 255 char?
OS support that, but not your application.

also, could you be part of Brice Lambson’s Image Resizer on Microsoft Powertoys?

    1. I had no idea about this issue. I will look into it. Thanks for reporting.

  4. “Metadata is copied by default, are you facing issue in metadata copy? Also, please use newer place to give feedback: https://mic.cognirush.com/feedback-windows/

But the date on the compressed images is not that of the original files. Am I making some mistake?

    1. You are correct, date (created, modified) on compressed image is not preserved which is NOT part of EXIF metadata and created by Operating System (Windows in this case) when a new file is created. If you are talking about date info saved in EXIF metadata, it should be preserved – doesn’t it? Do you want me to contact you by mail and discuss more?

    2. Harshit,
Can you please check with latest version 3.3.2? Multiple users have reported issues with metadata coping to compressed image. This is Windows 11 related issue. Version 3.3.2 has additional and more robust way of copying and (at least in my Windows 11) I am able to carry EXIF tags forward to compressed image. This issue also exists with Microsoft’s default Photo application that comes with Windows 11 where if you edit the photo and save, it looses all metadata. So, general advice is to update Mass Image Compressor (to 3.3.2) and report issue if you still face the issue.

  5. The software works well for the intended purpose (functional, fast and reliable) but I cannot do image to image compression between compressed and uncompressed version inside the software. It’s difficult to gauge quality reduction by the compression process. Great software otherwise, a great time saver.
